To help alleviate wait times in the Emergency Department, Memorial Hospital has developed FastER, a new service of the Emergency Department that focuses on the less severe emergencies. FastER treats simple lacerations, minor burns, sprains, bee stings, fevers, sore throats, flu symptoms, ear or eye infections, minor headaches and the other bumps, bruises and scrapes in life. As always, patients with severe emergencies are treated immediately, but everyday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. FastER treats secondary emergencies quickly too.
