|
Uses sterile technique to properly set-up for cardiac Catheterization procedures. Tray, injector, transducer and patient preparation are performed accurately. Performs pre-catheterization equipment checks. Calibrates and troubleshoots lab equipment with minimal assistance. Identifies any system warnings and takes appropriate action. Greets and communicates with patient, reviews patient teaching, assists patient during procedure and provides comfort measures as necessary. Assists the physician with all all aspects of the cardiac procedure. Ensures all applicable equipment is air/bubble free. Cautiously injects the coronary artery using contrast media with enough force to visualize coronary lesions. Recognizes changes in hemodynamics or electrocardiogram and alerts the physician . Records complete patient studies. Can analyze pressure recordings and calculate left ventricular ejection fractions. Documents pertinent procedural information correctly. Maintains required records, reports, files and statistics. Locates and hands off sterile supplies to scrub team. Assists with maintenance , set-up, insertion and operation of the Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and IAB catheter, including: zeroing, timing, identifying alarms, and corrective action. Administer medications found in the Cath Lab formulary. Medication is dispensed consistent with the physician's order. Observation of actions, side effects, or changes in vital signs are documented. Observes the patient for possible allergic reactions/complications. Utilizes proper radiation safety for self as well as patient. Removes arterial/venous lines without complication. Instructs patient of post procedure limitations and restrictions. |

Staffs BLS units participating in the leased EMT's program. Subject to staffing of the ALSU. Knowledge of Basic Life Support assessment and treatment of all age groups. Completes approved work lists at BLSU locations. Performs thorough equipment check of primary (BLS or ALS) vehicles at the beginning of each shift. Primary operation the ALSU vehicle to convey the vehicle and crew safely to and from scenes of ALSU dispatches when staffing ALSU. Utilizes all resource and education available. Attend appropriate continuing education to maintain certification as described by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health. Assists ALSU providers in patient care when assigned to ALSU, within approved scope of practice. Assists Emergency Department personnel as assigned but must remain available for immediate ALSU dispatches when staffing ALSU. Safe operation toward BLS unit and crew as needed. Demonstrates interest in fulfilling the mission of the hospital by participating in departmental goals. Creates positive climate within the department and at leased EMT services, and sets high performance standards. Performs cleaning of assigned areas in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Cleans assigned areas satisfactorily to the touch, sight, and smell of the supervisor. Cleans and maintains all assigned areas following standard procedures. Mops or vacuums floors. Cleans bathrooms and fixtures. Removes trash and soiled linens. Disinfects patient surfaces. Polishes furniture. High/low dusts surfaces. Replenishes paper and soap supplies. Washes interior surfaces. Moves and rearranges equipment and furniture. Distributes clean linen. Performs project work. Performs all other duties as assigned. Assists in cleaning spills observed or upon request.

DESIGNATED DUTIES (others as assigned): Establishes standards and procedures for the housekeeping staff. Plans work schedules to ensure adequate service are provided. Using documented task and frequency schedules arranges for ongoing upkeep of the facility. Working collaboratively with the maintenance and facilities department requests services to ensure consistently high levels of facility appearance. Works collaboratively with the Infection Prevention Nurse to provide an aseptic environment in all patient care areas. Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to provide uninterrupted services without overstocking such that waste occurs. Investigates new and improved cleaning methods, products and devices to advance the professionalism of the department. Selects and purchases equipment and supplies. Assists in the recruitment, interviewing and selection of department staff, in cooperation with the Human Resource recruiter. Actively manages staff development to build necessary skills and elevate professionalism of the department. Enforces all hospital policies within the department including but not limited to: dress code, personal appearance, attendance and customer service standards. Staff Education and Training: Develops, implements and maintains an effective department orientation program for new employees to cover all basic skills and behavioral competencies and ongoing education for staff with pertinent topics. Advanced training shall be provided to develop expertise of promising staff members. Schedules Environmental Services staff for hospital training programs to meet annual requirements.

Utilizing hospital information system enter patient information, including but not limited to demographics, insurance, physician and diagnosis for all patients including pre admits and physician offices specimens. Provides coverage for the hospital switchboard, cashier area, use of the TTD line and coverage for the Welcome Center as needed. Interacts with patients, physicians and other hospital associates. Directs and/or escorts patients to other departments when needed. Prepares charts as needed.
