Memorial Welcomes New Urologist

Dr. M. Azeem Bhatti, a board certified urologist, recently joined Memorial Hospital.  His practice, York Urology Specialists, is located at the Sixth Avenue Professional Center.  He said he is looking forward to practicing in our community.  Dr. Bhatti has extensive experience in organ preservation and minimally invasive surgeries.  “I see this as an opportunity to bring my expertise to York County and meet an underserved need,” said Dr. Bhatti.

Diabetes Family Fun Day

Memorial Hospital is sponsoring a one-day Diabetes Camp for children and their parents on Saturday, August 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event will be held on the Memorial Hospital grounds.

Dr. Manu Rajachandran, or Dr. Raj, as he is referred to, recently joined Memorial Hospital as the chief of Memorial’s Cardiovascular program.  “This is an exciting opportunity to build a comprehensive cardiovascular disease service line.  It is clear that Memorial Hospital can be a valuable resource for cardiovascular services in the community, and I look forward to leading the effort to provide state-of-the-art services to our patients,” said Dr. Raj.

Memorial Lifts Visiting Restrictions

Due to decreased activity of influenza-like illness in the community, Memorial Hospital, as well as Gettysburg Hospital, Hanover Hospital, and York Hospital, has lifted all restrictions to their visitors’ policies.  Visitors to the Family Birth Center will no longer be restricted to those 18 years of age and older.  People who have flu-like symptoms, which include fever, cough, sore throat, body ache, chills and fatigue, are asked not to visit patients in any area of the hospital.
