Services at Memorial Hospital/York Heart and Vascular Specialists
We specialize in cardiology, electrophysiology and vascular medicine. Our services include non-invasive cardiac testing, invasive cardiology services and diagnosing and treating electrical disturbances of the heart.
Non-Invasive Cardiac Testing
YHVS provides non-invasive cardiac testing including electrocardiograms, holter monitors, nuclear cardiac stress testing, echocardiography and vascular testing. Our procedures include diagnostic and vascular catheterization, trans-esophageal echocardiogram (TEE) and carotid and renal stenting.
Through its affiliation with Memorial Hospital, YHVS offers the latest diagnostic equipment including two SPECT-CT nuclear cameras. These cameras provide better visualization of the heart for more accurate diagnostic testing. Memorial also is accredited by numerous outside entities, such as the International Commission of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) and the American College of Radiology. These accreditations are a testament to the quality service that is provided by YHVS and Memorial Hospital.
Invasive Cardiology Services
In conjunction with the Heart and Vascular Center at Memorial Hospital, YHVS performs cardiovascular interventions in a state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab and treats blocked heart, leg and arm arteries with balloons and stents. We specialize in opening blocked arteries in the lower leg, which improves quality of life and may prevent the need for amputations.
The diagnosis and treatment of electrical disturbances of the heart is called electrophysiology. Our electrophysiologist specializes in placing pacemakers and defibrillators to treat abnormally slow or fast heart rhythms. We also place bi-ventricular defibrillators in patients with congestive heart failure to help improve the patient's heart function and quality of life.
York Heart & Vascular Specialists is a member of Memorial Hospital's Family of Health Services, a network designed to make quality health care available to people of all ages.
